I have designed my portfolio site, along with many others, through WordPress using Elementor. My knowledge of HTML/CSS helps me to refine the elements to do exactly what I want them to do.
Website Design has several different aspects, including webpage layout, content production and graphic design. Website development is the coding of the website to make it accessible for the Internet. Most times, web design and development are separate, however, in WordPress, I am the designer and developer.
I have designed my logo icon using Adobe Illustrator. The icon is a circular rainbow of colors with my initials, ‘D’ and ‘S’ in the center. If you look closely at the initials, you can also see an infinity symbol and L.G.B.T. (uppercase L & T, lowercase g & b).
Graphic design is the process of creating visual designs to convey a message using typography, color and/or images.
This video simulation of how I created my logo icon is an example of interactive media. I created this video using Adobe After Effects. I took several images and linked them together to play a short video clip.
The play button in this video requires the audience to press it to start the video. This action is what makes media interactive. It is a means of communication where what happens on the screen is based on what the user does.
